I started playing video games when I was only six years old and since then, they have become a big part of my daily life. The joy I felt the first time I started gaming is still felt like a roller coaster ride, with great excitement. Most of the memorable moments I had were when I was playing with others, such as my friends and family.
Playing with friends and family were the best moments I had because we were all having a good time. We played games like Mario kart and Street Fighter, even friends I didn't talk to as much played with me. We were able to connect better while playing video games because it was something we enjoyed. I believe that the best way to enjoy video games is by playing with others. Almost every game nowadays is based around online multiplayer, as it allows you to play with other people around the world who can become your online friends that you enjoy time with through the internet.
Recently, my friends and I were playing Fortnite. Fortnite is battle arena of 100 players, were they attempt to be the last one standing. My friends and I were in a group of four against 96 other players. This game is extremely competitive, but even when we lost we still had fun. It was tough, but we kept improving and got closer to first place. After about an hour of trying, we finally managed to win. It felt great. Throughout this time, we managed to meet others who became friends.
Gaming has always got me to play competitively, have fun, or just relax. It is what makes gaming unique, but you don't have to always be competitive because there are games that are not based on competition, such as MMORPGs, Survival/Open world games, etc.... My preference of video games and play style has changed over time, but I am currently really enjoying the “MOBA” type of game because it allows for you to play how you want. These type of games allow you to have a play style of your choice but it still requires a lot of strategy. Fortnite and PUBG are good examples of a “MOBA.
When playing video games, I am able to distance myself from stress, and it helps me stay positive. It’s not always about trying to win the game. Just like most games, it can be serious and sometimes not, but in the end all that matters is how much fun you had.
