As I was waiting in line I felt so nervous yet so excited, I could feel butterflies forming in my stomach.
Sophomore year I used to always see this to cute guy around school, I used to always wonder who he was until junior year came around when we found each other through social media and started to get to know each other. We immediately clicked and joked around with each other all the the time, It was like we were two puzzle pieces that fit so perfectly together.
We were holding hands as we approached the gates that open up to the mummy ride.
The first time we met it was during Summer in 2017 it was a little awkward at first but that went away within seconds of being around each other, we planned on watching a movie together at the mall but that didn’t go as planned because I was late.. (I’m literally late for everything). So we spent the afternoon just walking around the mall and grabbed some boba and started to get more comfortable with each other and literally talked for hours.
Ever since I met Juan, my world has become more alive. The more I got to know him the more I felt something warm and beautiful stirring within me. I used to think to myself is this the feeling that poets have struggled to describe as love? Because all I knew was that I felt happy and complete when I was with him.
We hop into the Egyptian style cart and start heading towards the dark tunnel as we hear screams coming from the inside.
Juan and I have honestly gotten to experience so much together and I’m truly so grateful and happy for that. We have been able to travel/go to Universal Studios, Disneyland, Santa Cruz, Monterey and Six Flags.
But I would say that one of my favorite memories that we have together just happened recently and that’s us going to Maui. We went snorkeling together in the clear waters of Hawaii and got to swim with the schools of fishes and sea turtles, ate such amazing foods and watched such breathtaking sunsets together.

All I hear is "With your souls, I shall rule for all eternity!" Out of nowhere we started going extremely fast and I started seeing flashes of light coming from all around.
When asked about how it feels to be almost 2 years Juan says “um it's kinda crazy cause time felt like it passed so fast and I don’t know two years feels like a lot but it’s kinda little because there is still a lot to learn about you, so in the next years I might learn a lot more.”
Then the cart quickly moves into another room where we hit the wall and scarab beetles come pouring out. The cart moves fastly backwards into the underworld as a evil laugh roars.
According to an article called “ Being (Happily) Married To Your High School Sweetheart Is Pretty Incredible” by Wendy Wisner mentions that “High school sweethearts share some of the most fragile and intense times of life — the teen and young adult years — when the hard stuff of childhood gets sorted through and faced head-on, and when your voice as an adult is being shaped. Chances are, you shaped that voice together, and that can be an incredible, unifying force that defines your relationship.”
Being in a relationship for almost two years with Juan has been such an amazing journey, we have been able to learn so much about each other and we got to learn about our differences and imperfections. Our relationship has grown so much over the time and we still are.
The mummy ride ends and we get off all happy and excited, we turn and look at each other and I say “Juan I just want you to know that you have made me the happiest girl alive with your love.”
