Youth experience high levels of chronic stress to the extent where it has impeded their abilities to thrive academically fosters risk behavior and compromises their mental health.
When I asked my friend Sammy who is also a current senior, what is it that causes you to feel stressed she answered, “ I think what causes not just me but other fellow students stress is the fact that we are given assignments after assignments. Especially when we have to handle more important things as well as applying and looking for colleges.”

When I asked my mom, Nora Palominos, “Can you tell as a parent when I am stressing out? ” she replied, “Yes, of course, I can. I know you like the back of my palm. I see that you aren’t acting how you would, you’re always talking about school. And there have been times you tell me you feel too overwhelmed.”
There are many ways to help get rid of stress or to overcome it. According to www.healthline.com some ways to help release the stress is to exercise, reduce caffeine intake, chew gum, spend time with family and friends, learn to avoid procrastination, and be organized.
I have tried to manage my stress. I try to just relax when I feel it intense. Sometimes I just need to get away from everyone for awhile and think thoroughly about everything going on. I like to think of a way to organize when and how I’m going to finish a homework assignment. To forget about the stress I feel, I like to spend time with my family and friends.

But as students, as seniors, we should learn to relax and not get too overwhelmed with everything going on. It’s important to not allow chronic stress into our lives because it will misguide us from our path.
