For many years, climate change has been studied to see the effects on our planet. As we had predicted, the results are catastrophic. Due to our world warming up, many states and countries are experiencing droughts because of the warm temperatures and very rigorous climates.
Climate change is the severe change in our weather and climate. Climate change has changed a lot on how our environment works, animals adapting to new habitats where they do not belong. This might not seem as complicated but this can lead to not being enough food for every animal. Our earth is heating up at higher temperatures than ever before. Some results of climate change are hotter temperatures in many areas as a result of many icebergs melting in Antarctica.
Humans are responsible for making our oceans warm and polluting the air. Many big corporations use heavy machinery that populates our air by the smoke produced from the machines. China's coal company is said to be capable of 14.32% of the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere according to a study done by The Guardian on the top 100 companies contributing to global warming. In total, all 100 companies are responsible for more of 70% of the worlds global emission. According to the World Wildlife Fund organization, burning coal releases 70% more carbon dioxide than natural gas. Having an excess amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere leads to warmer temperatures and warmer oceans. Having warmer temperatures also affects coral barrier reefs which helps with protecting coasts from waves and storms.
There are many things climate change impacts negatively. If our weather continues to get warmer throughout the years, farming will be very difficult. There would be shortages of water for growing crops and even for the animals. According to the Convention on Biological Diversity, climate change may affect plant growth and production by promoting the spread of pests and diseases, increasing exposure to heat stress and encouraging soil erosion due to stronger winds. Every year, crops are getting closer to meeting their heat tolerance which means crops are going to have to be grown in greenhouses.
Factory farming is a big contributor to climate change. Factory farming can create a range of pollution problems, fragmenting and even destroying natural habitats. To establish this, a large area of land needs to be cleared which inhabits many animals in the area. Most of the nitrogen from farm factories later gaseous and turns into ammonia. Many people may think everything is ok right now but we are destroying the earth incrementally.
It is clear that we are doing significant damage to our natural resources. Animals are on the verge of extinction every year with temperatures rising even higher. Polar bears in Antarctica are struggling to find land and food due to, too many icebergs melting. We depend on many plants for oxygen and food but climate change is making that harder. There are many organizations currently trying to increase awareness about climate change. The government can easily make regulations on things contributing to climate change but that would mean losing money to them.
There are several studies showing how much of the severe weather change is caused by humans. We are over polluting our atmosphere and creating too many gases which is the reason why many areas are experiencing higher temperatures than ever. People need to start to worry about their future and get involved with making a positive impact on our world. Donating to organizations like world wildlife fund is a way to contribute to the decrease global warming.
