I used to look at myself in the mirror, and it was hard for me to see my confidence being reflected back to me.
I struggled to feel confident in my own skin. There are days where I just don't want to go places and want to stay in.
Sometimes I think that there is a certain way that my body should look. For example, being skinny and having clear skin.
I feel really insecure about my acne because I feel like everyone is judging and staring at me.
It's hard for me to go out without makeup on because in a way it lowers my self-esteem.
With makeup on, I feel more confident about myself and have a better mood.
When someone asked me “Why do you wear makeup everyday?” or when they say “You should stop doing your make up for a while.” I think to myself, “You don’t know how I feel without makeup on, I feel insecure.”
It didn’t matter when someone told me I looked good in a certain outfit. It was hard for me to believe it, because I thought of myself as not being good enough.
My friends help me feel more confident about myself by complimenting me and boosting my spirits. Even though it’s hard for me to believe it, I want to boost my self-esteem.
I’m still not where I want to be, but I'm working on feeling good and confident about myself by not thinking negatively about myself.
At times I know my worth and feel beautiful and confident but, I still struggle in accepting my flaws.
