Relationships are something humans desire greatly. To me, relationships mean everything. From my girlfriend, to my mother, these relationships mean the world to me. I wouldn’t be who I am today if it weren’t for these people, and I’m eternally grateful.
There are certain relationships that I need in my daily life. There are connections I have that seem strange to others because of our offensive humor and vocabulary, but to me they’re my sense of healing, happiness, and belonging.
Relationships require nurturing, time, patience, and most importantly, love. From said relationships, I get the love I need as a person. They’ve helped me become more vulnerable and understanding a person. Bonds with friends, family, and my significant other have turned my direction in life and when I’m dealing with something in life, I know I have multiple shoulders to lean on.
Building new relationships is one of, if not the hardest experiences I’ve had in my life. I’m a very antisocial person. I get anxiety whenever new people talk to me and It’s a challenge to be the person that instigates a conversation.
Slowly but surely I’m getting out of my comfort zone and am becoming more social. Sometimes relationships don’t last, as much as you wanted them to but It’s okay. Something that I’ve come to realize as well is that you shouldn't be sad or upset that something with someone didn’t work out. It could be a friendship too, but you should be grateful that you had the opportunity to meet that person and have a relationship with them.
All in all, relationships are the most valuable thing to human emotions. The bonds we share with people, the way we talk with them, it all makes us, us.
