Ring….Ring….! The phone of someone who we’ll call, Karen, begins to ring. An inaudible, masculine, yet feminine voice goes through my classmates phone. The words, “His name is Jeffrey, say hi” and, “He goes to a different school,” leaves my classmate’s lips as she shoves the phone to my face. “Hey Jeffrey, my name’s Diana.” Who knew this would have been a start to a new friendship?
Jeffrey and I hadn’t heard of each other ever since, until my mid-sophomore year came along. It was another boring day in my chemistry class, up till the teacher spoke up, “We have a new student today, everyone say hi to Jeffrey.”
“The first time I saw you I lowkey didn’t like you because of the whole Karen situation. I kept thinking, ‘oh I don’t want to talk to her or be near you,’ so basically I just didn’t want anything to do with you. But once we meet I thought you were really gay, but I was all for it. I mean I thought you were an adorable, spontaneous person, and your hair colors! They were everywhere. I thought you were really emo. I would do anything for my Dianana”, said Jeffrey.
My first impression of Jeffrey was that he seemed really nice, outgoing, and sensitive.I loved how caring and open minded he was and still is. I also love how he is always down to do anything crazy/boring. He’ll always be my Jeffrey.
Not only did I have Jeffrey in my chemistry class, but I also had him for leadership. There we began talking and getting to know each other. We finally decided to hang out outside of school, which led to Taco Bell with a girl named Renata. After eating we walked back to Yerba Buena and hung out at a bench underneath a large tree. We ended up talking the whole time and getting to know each other.
A few years later, our friendship grew even stronger. A favorite memory of mine was when Jeffrey and Renata went to go get piercings. The whole car ride consisted of us singing our lungs out to Britney Spears, Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, etc. Once we arrived to the tattoo/piercing parlor, we kept bursting into laughter since Renata and Jeffrey we’re both nervous. Renata forced Jeffrey to get pierced first, which he surprisingly did. Then Renata went to get pierced next. Seeing their reaction was the best part of the day. Jeffrey ended up flinching which made Renata and I start laughing so hard. Jeffrey described the experience as really inhuman.
Jeffrey continues by saying, “I wasn’t gonna actually do it but then you went and then I was like I guess I have too and it was a really fun day to be in pain, but also to look really glamorous.”
“So once I saw Jeffrey getting pierced, I knew I had to do it next, that’s why I made him go first. When I saw Jeffrey flinch at first, I was beginning to get more scared than I already was. When it was my turn I was terrified but it ended up being not that bad” said my friend Renata who was also at the piercing shop.
Jeffrey says, “My favorite memory of us was, when we all went to queer prom, because that was fun, especially the dancing.”
During queer prom, we did a lot of dance and took multiple pictures with the props they supplied at the prom. We also kept drinking A LOT of Coca Cola and ate a bit of food that they had there, it was mostly fruit.
Our friendship to me means a lot, since when I met him, I was in a really bad place and because of his friendship, I’ve noticed I’ve become a lot more happier. I can never be sad when I’m around Jeffrey. Since he always making me laugh and smile. I know I can rely on him if I’m ever sad or just need somebody to talk too and not be judged. I love and appreciate him so much. I gave him a little nickname which was, jeffry.
Jeffrey says, “I think our friendship is strong it’s full of love and support I feel like we can be completely honest with each other and not get upset because we know we’re just saying what’s best for us, and hanging out with you is super fun and idk I love you I would do anything for you, you’re always there when I need to talk to someone.”

Although I’ve known him for a few years, it seems like we’ve known each other for a lifetime. We’ve had great memories through thick and thin and we’ll continue growing more and more as friends and people. I would do anything for my best friend Jeffrey.
