Saturday night, my mother decided to tell me some unexpecting news. She softly told me, “You will be moving schools really soon.” She specifically told me it would all happen on Monday, which was only in two days. I really didn’t know how to react to these kinds of situations because I’ve never really experienced this.
7 AM, Monday morning, I was feeling a little tired. I was just trying to keep up with all the things going on in my life. Once I was heading to school, I really didn’t know what to do, since I didn’t know anybody from that school. I saw the campus filled up with kids running around and just hanging out, spending a good time with one another.
Once everybody was heading to their classes, I was just glad I knew where my classes were at. If not, it would of been a mess.
My first class was science. The teacher said to partner up with someone. At this point, I was struggling with who to partner up with because I didn’t know anybody.

Suddenly, someone next to me, who was also new to the school, asked me, which was quite surprising to me because I thought I was the only new student in this school. Once it was lunch time, I didn’t know where to go or what to do.
I then found the same kids from earlier playing cards. I eventually became really good friends with them, and it went great.
Days went by and everything went by really smoothly. I interviewed my mother and I asked her, “What was my reaction when you told me I was moving to a new school?” She then said, “My reaction was a little surprising reaction because you weren’t really expecting it.”
School didn’t go as bad as I thought it would be. The next week, I met an old friend from preschool. It was crazy because of how much he’s changed. We’ve kept talking about our old elementary school days of how much fun it was.
Days passed and I started meeting new people. I learned how to communicate with people that I didn’t know. I learned how to react to these kinds of situations and much more. Most of the time, when people expect things to go bad, it really doesn’t turn out to be as bad as they thought it would be. The positive part of moving schools was learning how to deal with these kinds of
situations. Even now, meeting new people and making friends is easier for me and it has been doing me well.
