Having a family is really important, they can help you with anything and they can be there for you whenever you need it. The only thing your family wants for you is to become the best and become successful in life. Now, imagine having one of your family members deported by ICE.
ICE, also known as Immigration and Custom Enforcements, enforce the federal laws governing border control, customs, trade and immigration to promote homeland security and public safety. If you get caught by ICE, they will take you in for 48 hours and they interview you about your immigration status . If they don’t take you into custody within those 48 hours, the law says that you must be released. Even though they release you, ICE will still gather information about you and try to deport you.
Trump's administration had a 4-day long special operation to deport people who are deemed a risk to public safety and have committed immigration violations. Out of those four days, there were 232 arrest. The press believes that around 800 people were able to evade due to Oakland mayor Libby Schaaf's warning about a potential ice raid. Trump’s administration wants to go beyond what Obama’s administration did.
Garcia Hernandez, an associate professor at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law says, “ Trump's administration is much more willing to apprehend anyone and everyone who comes across an ICE agent’s path.”

She also states that, “Trump's administration is much more willing to detain individuals.” This means that we can be expecting way more ICE raids here in California and in any other states.
Juan Valencia, my dad, said that “ICE raids can be scary, especially for those who are illegal and/or undocumented.” He also said that the best way to help out someone who is undocumented is for them to know their rights.
For example, if an agent shows up to your house, you can keep the door closed or locked and ask them for a warrant. If the warrant doesn’t look valid or is not issued by a court or a U.S. immigration and customs enforcement, they can’t enter your house. Also, if the officer is asking you any questions, do not answer any or sign anything either.
If you don’t know your rights, you can always search online or ask friends and family members for help.
When ICE forcibly removes family members, it impacts the psychological, emotional and economic wellbeing of families. Trump said that throughout his campaign that he wants to deport all 11 million undocumented immigrants that are living here in the U.S. I think if they deport all 11 million people that there would be a lot of conflict and fighting between the people and the government. There would probably also be a lot of protest too.
